Mr. Neeraj Akhoury brings with him over 28 years of rich experience in the steel and cement industries. He has worked in leadership roles in India and other emerging markets. Mr. Akhoury was appointed as Managing Director & CEO of ACC Limited in February 2017. In February 2020, he took over as CEO India, LafargeHolcim, Managing Director & CEO, Ambuja Cements Limited and Non-Executive Director, ACC Limited.
He is on the board of Governors at National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCCBM) constituted by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. He also serves as Vice President of Cement Manufacturers Association of India. Mr. Akhoury has a degree in Economics and MBA from the University of Liverpool; General Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur; and an alumnus of Harvard Business School.
India & Digital Solutions
In India we are focusing on leveraging digital and innovative solutions across all key functions. In manufacturing digitalization we are moving towards creating “Plants of Tomorrow”. As part of the initiative we have implemented “Technical Information Systems” (TIS) that records minute by minute data from all key assets at our plants. This has enabled us in piloting AI/ML use cases thus improving operations.
Within Logistics, we have launched an “Integrated Planning” tool that enables demand consolidation, constraint-based Supply Plan and Network Optimization. Our Transport analytics center has helped deliver significant savings with route and lead correction. In our continuous endeavor to provide better service levels to our customers we have enhanced our “Dealer Connect App” and platform and have stayed connected with our influencers and customers during the pandemic times.
